The research in our group involves studying coastal and ocean hydrodynamics at different spatial and temporal scales and their impacts on coastal areas. Current research interests include waves and wave-induced processes in the nearshore environment and their interactions with sediments, aquatic vegetation, and structures. We also study the generation and evolution of waves in density-stratified fluids. Our recent work includes assessing the functions of natural and nature-based features as defense systems against coastal storms, and studying storm impacts on coastal infrastructure in the face of sea level rise and climate change.
